Advanced degree (minimum of a Master’s degree) in Education, Psychology, Leadership, Evaluation or related field, and at least 10 years of related experience.
Understanding of special education finance models and medical assistance billing procedures.

The Center for Applied Research and Educational Improvement (CAREI) invites applications for a temporary research position to assist with a research and evaluation project involving auditing special education programming in a large school district in Minnesota. The project will involve evaluating special education programming and staffing in the area of health services. The successful applicant will be expected to lead this project and complete evaluation tasks to answer district audit questions. Evaluation tasks include visiting sites, conducting interviews, obtaining information from various agencies, and creating evaluation tools (creating survey instruments, interview protocols, and guidelines). In addition, the successful applicant will assist with data analysis, and report writing. The candidate will be expected to interact with various agencies to acquire and interpret student data.
The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise and experience in the field of special education administration as well as experience in working in school districts and school settings. In addition, the ideal candidate will be up to date with research in the area of special education to aid in the development of survey and interview protocols and research/evaluation activities. The ideal candidate must be highly organized and skilled in verbal and written communication. This position will report to the Associate Director for Innovation and Outreach, however, it is expected that the ideal candidate will have the ability to work independently to resolve issues that arise within project methods, timing, and resources and make daily operational decisions within the project.
