　　The Department of Biology in the Eberly College of Science (www.bio.psu.edu) and the Huck Institutes of the Life Sciences (http://www.huck.psu.edu) at The Pennsylvania State University seek applicants working at the forefront of neuroscience for an open rank tenure-track faculty position in Neurobiology. Expertise in cutting edge technologies within the fields of cellular, molecular or functional neuroscience is highly desired. The successful applicant is expected to develop an independent, externally funded research program leading to novel insights into function of the nervous system at the level of cells, circuits and behavior, especially in the context of human health. Penn State’s University Park Campus brings together a diverse array of researchers including engineers, materials scientists, chemists and biologists, presenting excellent opportunities to apply basic research findings to societal problems.

　　Applicants at the Assistant Professor level should have a Ph.D. and postdoctoral experience, while applicants at the Associate or Full Professor level should have a leading presence within the field and a strong record of independent extramural funding. The successful applicant will integrate into a collaborative neuroscience research community at the University Park campus that spans several departments and colleges, and will contribute to the Department of Biology’s teaching mission. The Huck Institutes of the Life Sciences provide the opportunity to participate in the Institute of Neurosciences and affiliated Centers, interdisciplinary graduate programs in neuroscience and related fields, and outstanding core facilities.
