金融工程(MFE)一直是美国的热门研究生项目，对于就业有着不言而喻的优势，在金融工程领域比较权威的排名是QuantNet和TFE Times。近日，QuantNet ranking发布了2021年金融工程排名，有31个顶级项目进入榜单。
同行评价(20%)，学生的发展(55%)，录取难易度(25%)
从排名具体指标和占比我们可以看出，这个排名是以就业和职业发展为重点的，这也符合金工金数专业的本质属性：培养高度专业化的职场专业人才，而不是科研学术人才。
特别是在今年，结合排名指标和2020/2021排名的对比变化，对于广大小伙伴选校来说还是比较有参考价值的。
本次排名第一是纽约市立大学巴鲁克学院，去年第一的普林斯顿本次排名第三。而去年的第三名卡内基梅隆大学上升1位至第二名。
相比去年，MIT、NYU跌出前十(麻省理工学院本次未计入排名)，新进TOP 10的是芝加哥大学和佐治亚理工学院。另外，波士顿大学名次上升也较多，从去年的18名上升5名至第13名。
而约翰霍普金斯大学和伊利诺伊理工大学，今年因为未能提供符合最低限的实习数据或薪资信息而未能计入排名。
QuantNet排名对金融工程类的学生，尤其是打算留美工作一段时间的学生，一直有着至关重要的指导作用。今年特殊时期影响下，这份排名对于申请的参考意义也相对而言更具价值。
金工项目通常是STEM，有着36个月的OPT实习期，吸引着许多申请者。其中，每年的申请者中80%来自理工科背景，且学校极其看中申请人的数学和计算机背景。因此对于理科成绩好，并且对金融感兴趣的同学，金融工程专业将是一个非常不错的选择，而且此专业为理工背景的毕业生提供了转行的机会。
